A little traumatized

We just got back from taking Jax to the pediatricians office, just for a usual checkup. First let me say that Jax is normally an angel(this is said with zero sarcastic tone, for real!) when we go to the doctors. In the US every 3 months is the norm for checkups as infants. Jax goes in smiles, plays, lets the doctor check him out and all is well. At least until the vaccination shots come, and of course he gets upset and cries. Well here in Greece, you go see the doctor once a month and it just so happened that a few days after he got stitches he was due to see Dr. Sofia Papa something or other, haha. She is absolutely lovely, and Jax really like her last month. He let her hold him, play with him, listen to his heart and lungs, the whole deal without a uttering a peep. Today was much different.
Apparently Jax has been a bit traumatized from getting stitches. As soon as we went into the exam room, and he saw the bed/stretcher he freaked. He would not go near it, in fact he was screaming so loud you would think we were torturing him. He wouldn't even sit on the scale to be weighed. Now, normally I hate hearing him cry. As Im told from all my family that I completely baby him and he is totally spoiled. I did feel bad, but not that bad. His reaction was just so crazy, I was laughing cause I didnt know what else to do. Of course nothing was wrong with him, the second Pat or I picked him up, he stopped crying. Thank God he didn't need any vaccinations, because that would be the worst. We have to go back to the hospital in 2 days to get his finger looked at...should be very interesting!
In other news with the Carroll clan...Pat won his game last night. It was a big game against a team called Marousi. Pat had an awesome first half, looked so great out on the court! His shot was on, and his defense was fantastic. Sadly with less than 2 minutes of the start in the second half, the referee, who sucked (definitely an unbiased opinion ha) called 3 fouls on Pat within 2 minutes. He never got to go back in, so frustrating and annoyed off would be two words that come to mind. It's ok though, we won so all is well...for now. We play Olympiakos Saturday, so that will be exciting. Today is Pat's day off. Today Jax and I usually go to pilates, so I am trying to get Pat to go with us. A girlfriend of one of the other players has her own studio. It's fun and her mom usually watches Jax during the class so I can get my work out on! Here is a picture of Pat and his lucky charm before the game:)

Amanda... really like your blog. Jax is a quick learner... stay away from hospitals and definitely stretchers... but can't picture him being mean... just determined. Give his little paw a kiss from his old Aunt. Got a new job so US-based now... it was a promotion so i'm thrilled as in the pharma world they are getting harder and harder to get with downsizing. May get to EU sometime in May. Spent the weekend at Penn state… Alek is a Junior and we are looking at colleges. Went to the game and experienced the 400 victory for Joe Paterno… was really an exciting game and the crowd was fantastic. Alek liked the atmosphere at Penn State in that you could walk into town and there seemed to be a wide range of kids including "normal" kids (In contrast to Un of Penn that we visted in October, where Tom and I went, a place with too many nerds… same as it ever was)

I love your writing, please keep it up. More posts, more pictures, more everything! Love you guys!

Awww... poor little lion. For the record, his cries are his communication. I don't think responding to them is spoiling him. Nurse away. ;-)

I hope his finger heals quickly and completely.
